Eddie Plank is a local baseball legend who pitched briefly for Gettysburg College before entering the big leagues.  The college's Plank Gymnasium is named after Eddie and the library's GettDigital collections include several photos of him.  Located in the tourist area of downtown Gettysburg, Eddie's restaurant is casual with an extensive menu that offers a variety of eating and spending options.

Tips and tricks for maintaining and updating your WebPAC in three key areas:  presentation, content and functionality.  Topics will include:  Using the example sets on CSDirect as an easy starting point for WebPAC redesign.  How'd they do that?  (Deconstructing other WebPACs).  Hints for workign with Millennium Administration's Web Master and Web Options modes.

Release 2007 - New Features

A review by module of new Release 2007 features that you may want to implement in your library's Millennium system.  Includes discussion and demonstration of the following new possibilities (and more):  Setting password policies for Millennium logins, viewing the Bibliographic Record History, generating High-Demand Holds Reports, offering My List and "Forgot your PIN?" functionality in the WebPAC, and using Print Templates to customize hold and transit slips, purchase orders, routing slips, and monographic spine labels.

The session will be based on the significant changes that have occurred in the Login Manager/Settings areas since Release Silver. Special attention

 individual logins, effective management of large numbers of logins, and the power of customized settings in the day to day workflow of Technical 
 Services staff.

Acquisitions Work Flow”

This half-day seminar covers the many different work flows that are possible for

creating bibliographic and order records. The products/processes covered will

include direct keying of records, electronic ordering, batch loading of records

from book vendors, obtaining records from bibliographic utilities, z39.50. Also

discussed will be the effect that these different possibilities have on the work

flow of the cataloging staff and a discussion of new products available with

Release 2005.

“Authority Control in Millennium”

Dana Kemp, Innovative Interfaces, Inc.

 

This half-day seminar covers Millennium's Authority Control features that are

used to maintain the controlled headings in the library s database. Customers

will learn how to use the new Millennium Headings Reports (with its more

flexible features) to incorporate the headings reports into their authority

control work flow. In addition, they will find out about other features of

Millennium that they can use to keep their bibliographic and authority records

up-to-date. These will include verifying headings, validating MARC tags, using

Patron Search statistics to enhance authority records, and additional sources

useful in maintaining their authority records.
